Encounter Kaikoura

Our fully licensed café is located within our complex on the beachfront providing the perfect setting in which to enjoy great coffee and cuisine. Our extensive dining area is both inside and outside, the focus being to enjoy the natural open environment opposite the beach.

We are proud to offer New Zealand produce and wines and whenever possible, utilise regional suppliers. Our breakfast and lunch menus offer local seafood, great coffee and an fantastic selection of local wines.

Catering for groups and special events is available in our private function room with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and the Kaikoura Seaward Mountains. Contact us for personalised menus and buffet options.

 

Nigel Evans, from Wales, leads the kitchen team at Café Encounter as Head Chef. Nigel brings with him over 20 years of culinary experience and we are thrilled at the mouth watering options that he creates. 

 

 

 Café Encounter's choice of roasted coffee bean is Ozone Coffee based in New Plymouth. The Ozone Coffee Signature Blends and Single Origin coffees are all 100% Arabica and proudly roasted right here in New Zealand . Ozone Coffee is fully committed to the philosophy of fair trade and ensuring coffee growers receive a fair price for their produce is critical to the long term sustainability of the coffee industry.
