Located on the east coast of the South Island, Kaikoura is one of the most picturesque places in New Zealand. It is famous for the spectacular marine life that inhabits the coastline including whales, dolphins, albatross, penguins, fur seals and orca.

Encounter Kaikoura has been providing boat tours to visit this wildlife since 1989 and was the first business in New Zealand to provide dolphin swimming with a marine mammal permit issued by the Department of Conservation. The business is owned and operated by local Kaikourians with a passion for the beautiful environment in which they have lived in all their lives.
